| Non-partisan race rater Sabato’s Crystal Ball shifted their prediction for Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District in Lindsay James’ direction to “Toss Up” — the latest sign the Iowans are ready to flip the district blue.
In part, Crystal Ball writes:
- [IA-02] doesn’t have an incumbent, and Democratic gubernatorial nominee Rob Sand seems likely to carry the district even if he loses his race…
- Iowa is “enough of a potential problem for Republicans that IA-2 merits being a Toss-up, too.”Â
The ratings change comes as Joe Mitchell has made it crystal clear he’d spend his time in Congress advancing his personal interests and cozying up to his D.C. party bosses — not fighting for hardworking Iowans.
DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“Lindsay James is a public-school mom, chaplain, Presbyterian minister, and Iowa state representative whose faith drives her to take on a broken system. Meanwhile, corrupt career politician Joe Mitchell is fighting to uphold those same broken systems – while Iowans are desperate for change. With momentum on Lindsay’s side, Iowans will flip this seat in November.” |
