New reporting from the Daily Caller reveals that a right-wing group has singled out Mike Lawler as a case study of phony “previously moderate” Republicans who have lurched hard to the right under Trump.
According to the report, “The shift stands out because it suggests movement not in rhetoric but in [Lawler’s] voting behavior.” In other words, Lawler might try to paint himself as a moderate, but he’s voting like a MAGA Republican.
This is the THIRD independent analysis to confirm Lawler has abandoned any pretense of independence from Donald Trump. Lawler has voted with Trump 100% of the time this Congress, rubberstamped the largest Medicaid cuts in history to fund tax breaks for billionaires, protected Trump’s cost-spiking tariffs, and voted to claw back $9 billion in critical foreign aid and public broadcasting funding.
