| Today, Cook Political Report announced that it is shifting its prediction for Florida’s 27th Congressional District towards Democrats, building on growing momentum and setting the stage for a competitive election this year.
Cook Political noted that recent Democratic victories and large vote-swings towards Democrats in numerous special elections in Florida – including when Democrats flipped Miami’s mayoral seat blue for the first time in nearly three decades – make María Elvira Salazar increasingly vulnerable.
REMINDER: Recent polling has shown that Republicans are bleeding support among Hispanic voters by a wide margin of 43% to 27%.
DCCC Spokesperson Madison Andrus:
“Voters in Florida’s 27th Congressional District see right through María Elvira Salazar’s lies and faux-advocacy. Salazar has voted in lock-step with the D.C. policies that have led to higher bills at the grocery store, higher health care costs, and higher gas prices. Now she’s panicking because she knows South Florida is watching. Too little, too late – Florida voters are going to send her packing this November.” |
