| Today, independent race rater Cook Political Report shifted its rating for Florida’s 9th Congressional District towards historic overperformer Darren Soto, who is building the bipartisan coalition necessary to win in one of the most competitive districts in the country.
Cook Political Report’s analysis highlights how despite Republicans’ gerrymander, FL-09 “is a genuinely competitive race” thanks to Dan Green’s wildly unpopular agenda which would “‘slash’ Medicare and Social Security funding.”
Polling continues to show a tight race in FL-09 with the latest public polling showing Darren tied with Green in an R+8 district. The excitement is squarely behind Soto as he outraises Green despite Green dumping $700,000 of his personal wealth into his flailing campaign.
