100 Days into Trump’s Reckless War, House Republicans Continue to Support It and the Economic Damage Incurred

This week marks 100 plus days of Donald Trump’s war of choice in the Middle East. As a result, everything is more expensive, including the price of gas, which is over $4 a gallon today.

House Republicans have blindly supported this reckless war by voting again and again AGAINST a War Powers Resolution to stop it. After weeks of building momentum, House Democrats passed a War Powers Resolution last week, once again proving that Democrats are the only ones governing to put the interests of everyday Americans first, despite currently being in the minority.

According to a recent analysis from Nate Silver from March to June, an overwhelming 57.4% of Americans oppose Trump’s war in Iran. Separately, a survey from Brookings and the University of Maryland found that 55% of Americans under 35 and 57% of Americans over 35 say Trump’s war in Iran has had a more NEGATIVE than positive impact on American interests at home and abroad.

DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“MAGA extremists in the House are failing the American people. By rubber stamping Trump’s reckless war in the Middle East, they are betraying the very voters who elected a GOP majority in Congress on the sole promise of lowering the high cost of living. These phonies are going down in November.”
