100 Days Since House Republicans Caved to Trump and Blocked the Bipartisan Border Agreement

House Republicans continue to play partisan politics at the behest of Donald Trump, and voters have to look no further than Republicans’ hypocritical rhetoric on the border.

Today marks 100 days since House Republicans blocked the bipartisan border agreement from even getting a vote because, on Donald Trump’s orders, Speaker Johnson and House Republicans refused to even consider this critical legislation.

The border security plan is supported by two in three Americans, but House Republicans were “not willing to do too damn much right now to help a Democrat and to help Joe Biden’s approval rating.”

Rep. Keith Self said the quiet part out loud about his colleagues: “The problem is the Republicans, not the Democrats… It’s too many of my Republican colleagues [who] are unwilling to vote to secure the border.”

House Democrats will hold them accountable on the campaign trail for putting politics over solutions. Read a memo from the DCCC highlighting the issue HERE.

DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“House Republicans are addicted to complaining and inflaming issues – but have zero interest in solving them. They block bipartisan solutions to boost Donald Trump’s reelection campaign, then scamper up to New York to bend the knee. For them, it’s always been about groveling to the MAGA King in a red tie.”
