100,000 Americans Have Died From COVID-19, Why Are House Republicans Still Attacking Health Care?

House Republican Lawsuit Would Rip Health Care From Millions

As the U.S. eclipses 100,000 deaths from COVID-19, Republicans are pushing forward with their lawsuit to take health care from millions and let insurance companies discriminate against Americans battling the virus.

Nearly every House Republican voted twice to back the Trump Administration’s lawsuit to eliminate the ACA. The lawsuit would kick 20 million Americans off of their insurance and allow insurance companies to discriminate against Americans battling COVID-19. House Republicans support the lawsuit despite Attorney General Barr’s warning that supporting the lawsuit could cost Republicans in November.

This month, Kaiser Family Foundation polling found that health care is the number one issue for swing voters. Unsurprisingly, the poll also found that 58 percent of swing voters disapprove of Trump’s record on health care, a record that Washington Republicans own.

Statement From DCCC Spokesperson Robyn Patterson

“Everyday Americans are rightly concerned about their health and safety, but the only thing Washington Republicans are concerned with is their next attempt to dismantle the health care system we need to stop more Americans from being killed by this deadly virus.”
