GOP strategist to Politico: Republicans are “fully aware this is an issue where they could lose their seats if they don’t vote to extend these subsidies”
Accountability is coming.
As House Democrats delivered a monumental victory for the American people by passing a bill to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits for three-years, House Republicans in swing-districts are bracing for a tsunami-sized backlash over their vote against providing affordable health care for over 20 million hardworking Americans.
Here are the vulnerable Republicans who voted against the clean extension:
Nick Begich (AK-AL)
Eli Crane (AZ-02)
Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06)
Darrell Issa (CA-48)
Gabe Evans (CO-08)
Cory Mills (FL-07)
Anna Paulina Luna (FL-13)
Laurel Lee (FL-15)
Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01)
Bill Huizenga (MI-04)
Tom Barrett (MI-07)
Ann Wagner (MO-02)
Chuck Edwards (NC-11)
Mike Turner (OH-10)
Scott Perry (PA-10)
Andy Ogles (TN-05)
Jen Kiggans (VA-02)
Bryan Steil (WI-01)
* Dr. Greg Murphy (NC-03) – did NOT vote.
And a message for those who did vote: this is not a saving grace. Your disastrous record on health care – including voting in favor of the largest cut to Medicaid in American history – can not be redeemed.
DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton:
“Every single swing district Republican foolish enough to vote against saving health care for their own constituents just told voters to kick them out of office in November, as the ad writes itself. What a bunch of dumb dumbs.”
