2025 Wrapped: David Valadao Wrecked the Economy

Under Valadao’s reckless economic agenda, Central Valley families are paying the price. Here’s what you missed from last year’s reports: 

• Unemployment climbed to its highest level since pandemic recovery.
• Consumer sentiment plunged by 28% over the last year.
• Affordable Care Act premiums skyrocketed 114% on average after Valadao refused to act.
• Families on average paid almost $1,200 for Republicans’ reckless tariff policies – a cost set to nearly double this year if nothing changes.
• Layoffs from American employers hit over 1.1 million – the highest total since the pandemic.
• 51% of Americans said they are not able to save as much as they would like.
• More than 2,200 people and small businesses filed for bankruptcy – a record high.
• Electricity costs jumped 11% on average.

Meanwhile, Valadao’s billionaire buddies are doing just fine: 

• The top 1% will receive over $1 trillion in tax cuts from the Big, Ugly Bill over the next decade.
• Billionaires saw their wealth surge to a combined $6.9 trillion last year.
• Big corporations pocketed $16 billion in retroactive tax breaks alone since the Big, Ugly Bill was passed.
