$5.3M: How Much the DCCC Outraised NRCC by in August

Health care is on the ballot, and grassroots Democrats are giving their all…
DCCC Enters September with $35M COH advantage over NRCC…

Access to affordable health care and protections for people living with pre-existing conditions are on the ballot this November, and the urgency of this moment for Democrats’ grassroots supporters can be seen in the massive fundraising disparity between the DCCC and NRCCC this August.

For yet another month, the DCCC outraised the NRCC, this time by $5.3 million. That means the DCCC ended August with a whopping $35 million more on hand heading into the final months of the 2020 Election. That may explain why the NRCC has, despite bragging about their online fundraising, opted once again to submit their fundraising to the FEC on filing day without a public announcement.

“Our grassroots supporters know what is at stake in this election, and what is at stake following November,” said DCCC spokesperson Cole Leiter. “Republicans are fighting nonstop to rip away Americans health care, and that has only continued during the COVID-19 pandemic. House Democrats are the one firewall against Donald Trump and Washington Republicans recklessness, and we will not give an inch.”

The DCCC raised $17.2M through grassroots donations in August – $6M more than it raised through grassroots donations in August 2018 with an average online donation of $23. The DCCC also had its best-ever phone and mail-based fundraising month ever, and August 2020’s $8.2M haul surpassed August of 2018 by approximately $4M. With Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House, the DCCC has raised $248.8M this election cycle and has $104.7M cash on hand – nearly $35 million more than it did at the same point in 2018. At this point in 2018, the DCCC had raised $206M and had $69M cash on hand.
