As voters prepare for tonight’s debate, we wanted to remind you just how toxic Nick Freitas is for Central Virginia.
- Nick Freitas has a terrible record on health care. Freitas, who once called the Affordable Care Act a “cancer,” has doubled down on his threats to rip away health care from the nearly 74,000 Virginians in VA-07 who rely on the law.
- Nick Freitas wants to gut protections for over 300,000 Central Virginians in VA-07 with pre-existing conditions and even voted against capping the rising costs of insulin.
- After failing to file the proper paperwork in his House of Delegates reelection campaign, unscrupulous out of state billionaire donor and Roy Moore apologist Richard Uihlein gifted Freitas $500,000 to fund his write-in campaign efforts. Uihlein is still bank rolling Freitas’ campaigns.
- Freitas’ many paperwork issues leave voters to question what he may be hiding. After missing both the filing deadline for his 2019 House of Delegates race AND his filing deadline for his 2020 congressional campaign, Freitas is now apparently lying on at least one of his latest financial disclosure forms.
- Nick Freitas took thousands from corporate special interests and was one of the only Republicans to vote against over 100 bipartisan bills in the Virginia Legislature. Freitas was the only member of either party of the Virginia House to oppose health insurance coverage for autism–twice. And Freitas even opposed legislation requiring background checks for daycare employees.
