50 days out from Election Day, Democrats are in a strong position to dominate the home stretch of the general election campaign and win the House Majority.
Democrats are focused on the core issue that Americans care about most: lowering costs. The economy is the number one issue of the midterms, and rather than distance themselves from Trump’s deep unpopularity, Republicans are tying themselves to his record. Voters understand that the rising costs of gas, groceries, and health care are a direct result of Trump and House Republicans’ broken promises.
Republicans have nothing to run on. On every issue from the economy and the war in Iran, to immigration and corruption, Democratic candidates are posing a clear contrast to the Republican policies that Americans hate.
Real Clear Politics’ generic ballot average gives Democrats a 6.7 point advantage, and polls regularly hit double-digits. The experts agree — non-partisan race raters continue to shift races in Democrats’ favor.
Democrats also have the resources to make their case to voters. Democratic challengers are outraising their Republican counterparts in the races that will decide the majority. And on the committee level, the DCCC has outraised the NRCC cycle-to-date.
With the message, money, and momentum behind us, Democrats are well positioned to make the case to voters in the final 50 days and win the House Majority on November 3.
