50 Years Since Roe v. Wade, Mariannette Miller-Meeks Seeks to Further Restrict Reproductive Freedoms

Sunday marks 50 years since the Supreme Court’s Roe decision guaranteed women had the right to reproductive freedom and abortion healthcare. However, Americans will not be celebrating this year because just 7 months ago, the Republican appointed Supreme Court overturned Roe and restricted women’s bodily autonomy.

Mariannette Miller-Meeks shares the blame for the overturning of Roe, and unfazed by the consequences of Republicans’ war on women, Miller-Meeks wants to further limit reproductive freedom.

Previously, Miller-Meeks

• Joined 227 other Republican members of Congress in signing an amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to overturn Roe.

• Co-sponsored a federal abortion ban that would not make exeptions for rape or when the life of an individual is at risk.

• Refused to protect abortion, contraception, and interstate travel for abortion in the 117th congress – voting against each.

• And in just the first three weeks of the 118th Congress, Miller-Meeks has already voted for anti-choice legislation that would limit healthcare access and potentially imprison doctors.
