51 Years After Landmark Roe v. Wade Decision, Mazi Pilip’s Extreme Party Bosses Relentlessly Pursue National Abortion Ban

Today marks the 51st anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade decision, guaranteeing a woman’s right to reproductive freedom. Ever since then, Mazi Pilip’s extreme party bosses have attempted to roll back these rights, clinging to their dangerous, delusional belief that their attacks on women’s reproductive freedoms are popular.

Mazi Pilip – who identifies as “pro-life” – has repeatedly deflected when it comes to answering questions about abortion on the campaign trail.

In her first interview as the Republican nominee, Pilip refused to answer any questions regarding her policy platform. When pressed to answer where she stands on key issues, including reproductive freedom, a GOP staffer shut down the conversation altogether.

As a candidate for the Nassau County Legislature, Pilip dodged questions about her views on abortion rights after she stated in the interview that the Nassau Conservative Party endorsed her “because [of] what I stand for.”

New polling recently found that abortion rights have historic levels of support with voters, including 66% of voters who oppose ongoing Republican efforts to pass a national abortion ban.

REMINDER: The Chair of the NRCC encouraged GOP candidates running in swing districts – including handpicked candidates like Mazi Pilip – to brag about their extreme anti-abortion positions on the campaign trail: “Republicans don’t have a policy problem. We have a branding problem.”

DCCC Spokesperson Ellie Dougherty:
“Mazi Pilip is handpicked by MAGA extremists to pass a nationwide abortion ban, which is why she’s being coy with the press about where she stands when it comes to her abortion platform. The people of Nassau and Queens will reject her extremism at the ballot box.”
