Topic 1: Yoder has voted with Trump 95% of the time
It’s taken more than a year for vulnerable Republican Representative Kevin Yoder to hold a town hall and now the Kansas City Star editorial board is making him accessible to his constituents. Here’s what Kevin Yoder has refused to address:
- Voting with President Trump 95% of the time.
- Voting—without a CBO score or public input —for the Republican Repeal & Ripoff bill that would raise premiums for Kansans and kick more than 53,000 constituents off of their health care plans.
- Voting to let Wall Street to engage in the same risky practices that led to the 2008 Financial Crisis.
- Voting repeatedly to defund Planned Parenthood and jeopardize women’s access to preventative care and cancer screenings.
- Sending his campaign staff to the “Olathe Lives Matter”
- Skirting the issue on Comey’s firing.
- Dodging constituents for more than a year and refusing to hold a public town hall during key policy debates.
“Representative Yoder’s actions in Congress have shown that his loyalty lies with President Trump and Washington special interests, not with his constituents,” said DCCC Spokeswoman Rachel Irwin. “Kevin Yoder has a lot to answer for—it should be a pleasure watching him try to defend his record.”
