GRIMM LEADS DONOVAN BY 10 POINTS IN THE REPUBLICAN PRIMARY VOTE
Inline image OWAPstImg207588Former Congressman Michael Grimm leads Republican Congressman Dan Donovan by 10 points (49% to 39%) in a DCCC survey of likely Republican primary election voters conducted in New York’s 11thCongressional District.
Grimm leads among key groups of voters, including voters in Staten Island and women. Grimm holds an 11-point lead in Staten Island (50% to 39%) and a 13-point lead among women (50% to 37%).
TWO-THIRDS OF REPUBLICAN PRIMARY VOTERS APPROVE OF GRIMM’S JOB PERFORMANCE AS CONGRESSMAN
More Republican primary voters in the district approve of Grimm’s job performance as Congressman (+49 net, 67% approve to 18% disapprove) than approve of Donovan’s job performance (+20 net, 47% approve to 27% disapprove). President Trump has a net positive job approval among Republican primary voters in this district as well (+67 net, 78% approve to 11% disapprove).
New York’s 11th Congressional District spans all of Staten Island as well as a portion of southwest Brooklyn. It is the only Republican-held congressional district in New York City.
The results are based on a survey of 404 likely 2018 Republican primary election voters in NY-11 conducted by the DCCC fielded April 9-11, 2018. Respondents’ information came from the voter file and this poll was conducted through all live calls. The margin of error is +/- 4.9%.
