Today, the DCCC unveiled 12 new offensive additions to House Democrats’ Districts in Play for the 2026 cycle, bringing the total number of districts to 58.
The latest additions to the Districts in Play list include four open seats as a result of the historic GOP retirements, four districts in states that were gerrymandered by Donald Trump’s corrupt power grab, and the Chair of the NRCC.
From the start of the 2026 cycle, the DCCC has purposefully and methodically expanded the House battlefield, targeting districts Vice President Harris won that are still represented by a Republican, to districts that President Trump won by double-digits — but support for Republicans has since cratered. No matter if the district is suburban, rural, or redistricted, Democrats are decidedly on offense in an election cycle that is defined by voter outrage at spiraling costs and the Iran war spiraling out of control, disappointment with the Republicans in charge, and a resonate message and enthusiasm among Democrats to turn out and vote in November.
In recent polling, Democrats have taken a commanding EIGHT POINT lead on the generic ballot. Democrats also continue to hold a significant advantage in voter enthusiasm and have a 20-point advantage in preferences among those who say they are extremely motivated to vote.
“House Democrats are expanding the battlefield deep into Trump terrain because we have a winning message focused on fighting for an Affordable America,” said DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene. “At the same time, MAGA Republicans who historically have considered themselves ‘safe’ have let down the people they were elected to represent, passing disastrous policies that are crushing working families and our communities. Democrats are going to win in November and make Hakeem Jeffries the next Speaker of the House.”
