During their debate last night, Republicans in North Carolina’s 9th District debate gave their positions on everything, from their support for controversial legislation, to why none of their former co-workers endorsed them, to a deeply uncomfortable conversation where Stony Rushing offered to share the details of his extra-marital affair.
Yet despite their willingness to overshare on almost everything, Republicans avoided one topic like the plague: how they would approach the American health care system. That’s quite the topic to avoid, particularly when you consider that health care continues to be voters’ top concern heading into the 2020 election.
“Try as they might, Dan Bishop and Stony Rushing can’t dodge questions on health care forever,” said DCCC Spokesperson Cole Leiter. “Voters deserve to know if they will preserve important health care reforms, including protections for Americans with pre-existing conditions, and they deserve those answers before they head to the polls on Tuesday.”
