DCCC Spokesperson Cole Leiter released the following statement in response to tonight’s federal court ruling on the House Republican-backed lawsuit to eliminate the Affordable Care Act and it’s protections for 135 million Americans with pre-existing conditions.
“This ruling is a terrifying reminder of what’s at stake because Washington Republicans will stop at nothing to undermine our health care system and its protections for Americans battling pre-existing conditions like cancer, asthma, and diabetes. The American people see the work Democrats are doing to lower health care costs and the contrast that strikes with Republicans who continue their quiet campaign to leave millions of Americans with lower quality insurance, higher costs, and fewer protections.”

Recent polling shows that voters trust Democrats to protect their access to quality care. Voters trust Democrats more than Republicans to handle health care by a 16 point margin (52-36) and to make prescriptions drugs more affordable by a 21 point margin (51-30).
