Monthly out-of-pocket health care costs are set to jump as much as 75% next year because Republicans have refused to extend ACA tax credits, which help over 19 million receive affordable health care.
Instead, Republicans gutted Medicaid for millions of hardworking Americans, crushing rural hospitals and kicking people off of their health care to give massive tax breaks to billionaires.
According to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, if Congress does not extend the credits, individuals could expect a $100 to $200 increase on their health care per month, likely forcing people to drop their health coverage. These price hikes and loss of coverage comes as Americans are already grappling with rising costs.
DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:
“Prices are going up across the board, and House Republicans are pushing health care costs even higher for millions of people to pay for tax breaks to their billionaire donors.”
