After Marjorie Taylor Greene Claims Sandy Hook and Parkland Shootings Never Happened, Kevin McCarthy Puts Her on House Education Committee

NRCC Indebted to Marjorie Taylor Greene After Thanking Her for $175,000 Check

For most adults, if a coworker told you that she believed that the deaths of dozens of young children in the Parkland and Sandy Hook shootings weren’t real, or that Jews started a deadly wildfire in California with a space laser, you would first seek immediate backup and then insist on her termination. Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, this is not the case with Minority Leader McCarthy and Tom Emmer’s Washington Republican party.

Instead of censuring or firing Marjorie Taylor Greene after her disgusting beliefs came to light, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy put her on the committee responsible with overseeing our children’s education. Yes, that is correct.

Why, you might ask, would Kevin McCarthy put our children’s education and lives at risk?  This weekend, Politico reported that Kevin McCarthy is worried about alienating her “energetic wing of the party” – or maybe it has something to do with the $175,000 check she wrote to the NRCC, implicating every swing district Republican member with Marjorie Taylor Greene’s brand of hatred, racism, and violence. DCCC Spokesperson Drew Godinich released the following statement:

“Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is a card carrying member of the violent QAnon mob that stormed the Capitol and killed one police officer and injured dozens of others, and spread disgusting lies about the deaths of dozens of children of school shootings across the country. Marjorie Taylor Greene has no place anywhere near a classroom – but House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and Rep. Tom Emmer are too weak to keep her away from American children, and instead are rolling out the welcome carpet for her in the halls of Congress.”
