After U.S. Steel Sale, Rob Mercuri Called Out For Anti-Worker Record

Yesterday, Pittsburgh-based U.S. Steel announced its acquisition by Japanese company Nippon Steel in a move set to disrupt western Pennsylvania’s steel industry and the union workers who call the area home.

While Democrats and the USW are calling the sale a “betrayal” of the region’s steel workers, Republican Rob Mercuri is trying to score cheap political points, despite the fact that he recently voted against legislation to strengthen salaries, benefits, and worker protections.

DCCC Spokesperson Aidan Johnson:
“Rob Mercuri has no interest in protecting the good-paying union jobs that built western Pennsylvania. As long as his campaign is propped up by the Koch network and anti-worker organizations, Mercuri will continue to put the interests of his donors ahead of the livelihood of Pittsburgh’s working families.”
