After Years of Calling for the Repeal of the Affordable Care Act, Zach Nunn Hypocritically Tries to Convince Voters Otherwise

Zach Nunn has a long record of bashing and undermining the Affordable Care Act.

With less than a month until ACA tax credits expire, causing health care costs to skyrocket for millions of Americans, vulnerable House Republicans like Nunn – facing the most competitive races of their careers – are hypocritically making half-hearted statements and pretending they want to save the ACA because they know the GOP health care crisis will cost them their jobs.

In a desperate attempt to look like he is doing something to lower health care costs, Nunn still found a way to insult the ACA. Speaking to the press this week when asked about the soon-to-expire ACA tax credits, Nunn said:

“We can’t keep asking taxpayers to bankroll a broken system.”

And, Nunn even claimed that the ACA tax credits have “been driving up the health care costs for everybody… by double digits.

Nunn has no real interest in saving the tax credits and no amount of phony attempts to rewrite his own record will change that. The truth is Nunn and House Republicans have no plan to address the health care crisis. In fact, Deputy Speaker Mike Johnson lobbied the White House to crush any attempts to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits and, according to Punchbowl News, House Republicans’ efforts to convince Trump to let the tax credits expire is working.

DCCC Spokesperson Katie Smith:
“After trying to destroy it for years, Zach Nunn is waking up to the reality that his opposition to the Affordable Care Act will cost him his job next year. No amount of phony rhetoric or lies will change that. The DCCC will not let so-called Republican moderates like Nunn trick voters after refusing to do a single thing to address the health care crisis they created.”
