Just days before the anniversary of the January 6th insurrection, Derrick Van Orden is cozying up to fellow extremist and election denier Scott Presler.
Presler organized “stop the steal” rallies and, like Van Orden, was present on Capitol grounds during the insurrection. Presler even dismissed the deadly insurrection as a “civil rights protest.”
Presler’s extremism doesn’t stop at election denial and helping incite violent mobs; he was a lead strategist for a group that’s been labeled an “extreme hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center and has made at least 50 QAnon-related posts on social media.
DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“After Derrick Van Orden was present on Capitol grounds on January 6th, it’s no surprise this is the company he keeps. Van Orden’s embrace of an election denier just days before the anniversary of the deadly Capitol insurrection further proves he’s too extreme for Wisconsin and too dangerous for our democracy.”
