| After a full year of Republican rule in Washington, prices are rising across the board due to their reckless policies backed by Nick Begich.
A new study from the Joint Economic Committee released today shows the average family in Alaska is spending $2,345 on average more on everyday expenses, such as housing, transportation, food, clothing, health care and utilities.
Begich and his party bosses promised to lower costs for Americans on day one – but have done the exact opposite. As a result of dysfunction and chaos in the halls of Congress, nothing is getting done to lower costs – and things are just getting more expensive.
To make matters worse, Begich voted for the Big, Ugly Law, which is ripping health care and food assistance away from hardworking Americans, making health care and groceries more expensive in order to fund massive tax breaks to the wealthy and well-connected. This year, Begich let ACA tax credits lapse, causing health insurance premiums to skyrocket.
The DCCC will hold Begich accountable for his inaction on making life more affordable.
DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“Nick Begich promised to lower the high cost of living, but rising receipts and monthly bills don’t lie, his agenda is epically failing.” |
