As Nick Begich shamelessly touts his vote for the Big, Ugly Bill, which will rip health care away from nearly 40,000 people and threatens food access for almost 40,000 Alaskan households, Alaskans are ripping him, his lies, and his spineless leadership to shreds.
Read for yourself:

- I received an email from Rep. Nick Begich touting all of the wonderful things the Big Beautiful Bill (BBB) is going to do for all of us in Alaska…Really?
- Next, he covers how great the tax relief is going to be. He must be talking about how great it is going to be for his rich buddies because the net results for everyone else are essentially non-existent.
- He goes on to say how great the BBB is for health care in the state…What he doesn’t mention is that over 10 million Americans are expected to be uninsured as a result of his BBB vote.
- It’s a nice piece of fiction to try to put a positive spin on a bill that is going to really hurt the people who are on the lower end of the earnings ladder. What is specifically excluded from his letter is what the BBB does to the country’s deficit. It increases it by $3 trillion in ten years.
- All of this debt voted for by conservatives — it’s enough to make one’s head spin.
- The bottom line is that all of our congressional delegation voted for the BBB. All of them agreed to finance tax cuts for the rich with debt and cuts that hurt the most vulnerable in our society. And now all of them are trying to make us think that the BBB is good for us and the country. It is not. What they are doing amounts to topping a horse biscuit with whipped cream and telling it is good for us. Thanks a lot for nothing.
