Alaska’s News Source: Fearing Medicaid cuts, protestors march to Begich’s Anchorage office over vote supporting Republican spending plan

Nick Begich Was A Deciding Vote on the GOP’s Budget Blueprint That Could Decimate Medicaid

Days after Nick Begich jeopardized health care coverage by voting with his extreme party bosses for House Republicans’ cruel budget blueprint, Alaskans marched down to Begich’s office in protest to hold the vulnerable freshman Republican accountable.

In AK-AL alone, this dangerous vote risks health care coverage for 117,000 people and food assistance for more than 27,000 households.

DCCC Spokesperson Ellie Dougherty:
“Alaskans are already fed up with Nick Begich constantly siding with extreme party bosses who are taking a hatchet to critical programs like Medicaid. With each passing day, Begich’s extremist loyalties will prove perilous for him come next November.”
