Albany Times Union: “Esposito’s campaign did not supply comment when asked about the complaint.”
MAGA extremist Alison Esposito – who changed her voting registration from Manhattan to New York’s 18th Congressional District only one week before launching her campaign – is continuing to face scrutiny for using campaign funds to pay for a parking spot near her Upper East Side apartment.
Newly revealed records proved that during the 2022 New York Gubernatorial campaign Esposito’s far-right former running mate, Lee Zeldin, paid for the Upper East Side parking spot. Zeldin even extended this privilege to Esposito months after losing the election.
To top it off, a new piece today in the Albany Times Union highlighted that End Citizens United filed a complaint against Esposito for these potential violations of Federal Election Commission rules.
DCCC Spokesperson Ellie Dougherty:
“Upper East Side Alison’s carpetbagging continues to be a real sticking point for her failing Hudson Valley congressional campaign.”
Alison Esposito is facing a complaint filed by a progressive group accusing the congressional candidate of misusing campaign funds to pay for a personal parking spot.
The complaint, filed with the Federal Elections Commission Monday morning by End Citizens United, alleges her campaign made three payments to Icon Parking, which operates parking garages in New York City.
The complaint cites part of a May 8 report from Politico’s New York Playbook that states the payments were for parking near the candidate’s Manhattan apartment. The report states the payments appear to run afoul of prohibitions against using campaign money for personal purposes.
The complaint also alleges Esposito has done the same thing in the past, citing Politico reporting and Esposito’s campaign filings that state she made more than $2,000 in payments to Icon Parking during her 2022 run for lieutenant governor.
Esposito’s campaign did not supply comment when asked about the complaint.
