Alek Skarlatos on Winner of 2020 Election: ‘No Comment’

Skarlatos’ Far-Right Extremism on Full Display in Damaging New Interview

OR-04 Republican candidate Alek Skarlatos won’t say who won the 2020 election.

The Trump loyalist offered “no comment” when asked about the outcome of the presidential election by the News-Review.

But Skarlatos had plenty to say about the deadly January 6th insurrection, which he repeatedly downplayed, claiming that “many people simply walked in and didn’t know the doors had been forced.”

This isn’t the first time Skarlatos has caught heat for his extreme comments about Jan. 6 – he previously stated his first thoughts after the insurrection were about how “the liberal media was going to use this for the next six months to demonize Trump supporters.”

Reminder: the January 6th insurrection resulted in five deaths, hundreds of injuries, and serious damage to the Capitol building.

“Alek Skarlatos has long been going down the far-right rabbit hole, but denying the results of the presidential election and downplaying a deadly insurrection is a new low,” said DCCC spokesperson Johanna Warshaw. “Skarlatos’ extreme stances on issues from Jan. 6th to the minimum wage and health care are wildly out of touch with the people of Oregon’s Fourth District.”
