During yesterday’s Eugene City Club debate, moderator Chris Lehman asked each of the candidates a basic question: “Can you state without equivocation who won the 2020 presidential election?”
A simple question with what should be a simple answer – and yet failed congressional candidate Alek Skarlatos (OR-04) still can’t bring himself to say Joe Biden won the 2020 election.
His extremist views don’t come as a surprise. Skarlatos is a long-time Trump sycophant who:
-
Responded “no comment” when asked last year who he thought won the 2020 election;
-
Cast doubt on the events of January 6, claiming that “many people simply walked in and didn’t know the doors had been forced” and calling into question the loyalty of the national guardsmen stationed at the Capitol;
-
And liked posts that claim the 2020 election was fraudulent, including a tweet that reads “The FBI rigged the 2020 election.”

DCCC spokesperson Teddy Lake:
“It’s no wonder extremists like Ted Cruz, Kevin McCarthy, and Elise Stefanik are so committed to boosting Alek Skarlatos’ sputtering campaign. From overturning the election to overturning the right to choose, Skarlatos is in lockstep with their far-right agenda.”
