Both the Boston Globe and Washington Post have new stories out this morning about the battle for Rhode Island’s 2nd district.
Let’s check the facts on Allan Fung:
“Fung bristles at the charge that he’s no different than other Republicans.”
Allan Fung is a Republican. Allan Fung is a Republican whose first vote in Washington would be his #1 campaign booster Kevin McCarthy. Allan Fung supports McCarthy’s Trump-apologist, extreme agenda.
FEC reports show Fung has already taken over $50,000 from extreme, abortion-banning, election-denying DC Republicans.
Abortion: “Fung opposed a 2019 bill codifying abortion rights in Rhode Island” because it “went too far.”
Correct. Every voter should know that Allan Fung thinks abortion rights being protected under Roe is “too far.” Fung is key to giving MAGA Republicans power in D.C. to ban abortion nationwide, even in Rhode Island. They have said so themselves.
Allan Fung has an “A” rating from the NRA.
Correct. Allan Fung is a Republican who opposes protecting our communities from gun violence to protect the gun lobby. He restated his position opposing an assault weapons ban.
Allan Fung doesn’t have a position on preventing another January 6th.
“Fung said he is not familiar with the legislation.” This is a common tactic of Fung’s, not being familiar with basic legislation that has been covered broadly in the press. Why won’t Allan Fung stand up to prevent another January 6th?
Fung has still avoided speaking out against Donald Trump’s actions post-election and on January 6th.
Fung claimed Trump was “not a guy that I would hang out with.”
C’mon Allan. Heck, just months ago he told the Boston Globe, “I’m not running away from Trump.”
