This week, Texas enacted one of the most radical, restrictive abortion bans in the country. And in doing so, it provided a blueprint for state legislatures across the country – including Kansas – to ban abortions, intimidate physicians and family members, and strip access to health care for women.
Kansans deserve to know: Would Amanda Adkins support Kansas making abortion illegal after six weeks of pregnancy, as well as putting a bounty on doctors, family members, and anyone who tries to help?
Adkins has a long history of trying to block women’s access to health care. Just like her former boss Sam Brownback, Adkins opposes Roe v. Wade and wants to make abortion illegal even in cases of rape and incest. She also supports defunding Planned Parenthood, which provides affordable health care to tens of thousands of Kansans every year.
And even after the drastic Texas law went into effect, Adkins doubled down on her extreme anti-abortion view.
“Kansas women and families deserve to know whether Amanda Adkins supports radical measures that strip away access to health care, ban abortions, and criminalize those who help women seek care,” said DCCC Spokesperson Johanna Warshaw.
