This is far from the first time Adkins has aligned herself with party extremists in a desperate ploy for power. As a long-time advisor to disgraced former governor Sam Brownback, Adkins praised Brownback’s tax agenda that gutted funding for public schools and caused teachers to be laid off. Despite his disastrous record, Adkins called Brownback an “incredible governor” and personally donated to his re-election campaign.
