AMERICA SPEAKS: No One Likes The Big, Ugly Bill

Washington Post-Ipsos poll: “A plurality of Americans oppose the sweeping tax-and-spending legislation”

New polling from Washington Post-Ipsos confirms what we already knew: the Big, Ugly Bill is wildly unpopular with the American people – and Democrats have a huge runway to continue to define the GOP Tax Scam to the public.

Republicans’ vote for the Big, Ugly Bill will be the defining moment of the 2026 election cycle – and the so-called moderates will regret it over the next 15 months, as the DCCC wrote in a May memo.

This new survey affirms other recent national and battleground research showing the Republican scheme to slash Medicaid, SNAP, and energy jobs to pay for massive tax breaks for billionaires is out of step with the American people.

What’s more, CNN’s Harry Enten found that the Big, Ugly Bill is even more unpopular than the 2017 Tax Scam.

DCCC Spokesperson Justin Chermol:

“It’s no wonder the so-called moderate House Republicans continue to lie about their Tax Scam: the Big, Ugly Bill is wildly unpopular with the American public and they know their vote for it will lose them the majority next year.”
