Yesterday, Andrea Salinas voted to pass the annual National Defense Authorization Act – a bipartisan bill reaffirming Democrats’ commitment to defending our nation and supporting the men and women who put their lives on the line for our security.
Thanks to Andrea Salinas, a host of extreme, far-right policies were removed from the bill, and instead this year’s legislation:
-
Raises service member pay by 5.2%, the largest bump in 20 years.
-
Invests in child care, housing, and health care.
-
Bolsters education and child development for military families.
-
Improves readiness and spurs modernization efforts.
-
Invest in our allies and our relationships abroad.
Andrea Salinas delivered for service members and their families across Oregon yesterday, and will continue to work tirelessly to invest in the middle class and defeat extremism across the country.
DCCC Spokesperson Dan Gottlieb:
“House Democrats and Rep. Andrea Salinas remain steadfast in their commitment to supporting families and growing the middle class, and this defense bill delivers on that commitment. Yesterday’s vote is a perfect example of what happens when lawmakers put people over politics and govern responsibly without giving in to MAGA demands.” |
