While Andy Barr Gets Ready to Rub Elbows in Hollywood, His “Big Role” in DC is Hurting Kentucky Soldiers and Veterans

Barr brags about role in backing emergency declaration that is taking money intended for veterans pay and military installations in Kentucky

Andy Barr seems to have forgotten who he works for and has decided to put his political loyalties ahead of the interests of Kentucky veterans, active-duty soldiers, and military families.

As Andy Barr gets ready to hypocritically jet off to Beverly Hills to raise money, in DC, McClatchy reports he’s playing a “big role” in planning the legal strategy to defend the sham emergency declaration that’s hurting Kentucky.

This is the same emergency declaration that’s being paid for by forcing the Pentagon to take $1 billion away from troop and veteran pay funds. And the emergency declaration Barr is working so hard to defend is also threatening tens of millions of dollars in funding for critical projects at Fort Campbell and Fort Knox.

“It’s astounding how out of touch Andy Barr is with his constituents and the needs of soldiers and veterans in Kentucky,” said DCCC spokesperson Mike Gwin. “When he’s not busy flying around the country to fundraise, Barr is hard at work in DC backing a measure that’s shamefully taking money away from funding for Kentucky veterans, active-duty service members, and bases around the commonwealth.”
