| Ann Wagner and House Republicans left town on Friday with no plans to return to D.C. before October, ditching any plans to address the health care crisis they created. KFF recently found that premiums could soar by more than 75% on average because of Republicans’ inaction – a devastating blow to Missourians already struggling to make ends meet.
But Wagner doesn’t seem to care about Missourians’ rising costs. Just this week, she voted to cede congressional power on price–hiking tariffs to Donald Trump.
If the ACA tax credits expire, health care costs could jump and millions could lose care just months after Wagner and Republicans enacted the largest cuts to Medicaid in American history.
New Joint Committee on Taxation data confirms the ACA tax credits overwhelmingly help working and middle-class families, with 24 million Americans at risk of seeing health care costs spike if Republicans fail to act.
DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“Ann Wagner refused to address the looming health care crisis she created and, as a result, is skipping town. The DCCC will make sure Missourians know it was Wagner who had the chance to extend ACA tax credits — and chose not to.” |
