Ann Wagner Votes Against Protecting the Right to Vote

Vulnerable Republican Ann Wagner joins her party in voting to continue allowing states to enact discriminatory laws that make it harder to vote

Today, Rep. Ann Wagner (MO-02) voted against H.R. 4, the landmark John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to restore and strengthen anti-discrimination enforcement authorities in the Voting Rights Act of 1965. As states across the country pass Jim Crow-style voter intimidation and suppression laws, Ann Wagner voted to continue to allow states to restrict access to the ballot box, especially for voters of color, low income voters, seniors, service members, and voters with disabilities.

“Republicans like Ann Wagner would rather choose their voters than the other way around,” said DCCC spokesperson Monica Robinson. “Instead of actually passing policies that help hard working Americans, Ann Wagner once again sided with those in her party who are trying to change the rules to keep Missourians from voting.”
