Anna Paulina Luna and María Elvira Salazar Remain Silent As Donald Trump Salutes Insurrectionists and Calls For “Bloodbath”

This weekend, four-time indicted, presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump saluted convicted January 6 insurrectionists and declared there would be a “bloodbath” if he lost the election.

Anna Paulina Luna and María Elvira Salazar have deliberately chosen to stay silent in the wake of this hateful speech.

Trump has also “pledged to launch an unprecedented deportation effort if elected, pointing as inspiration to a 1954 program called ‘Operation Wetback’ that used military-style tactics.” This “inhumane” and dangerous policy would create “the largest domestic deportation operation in American history.”

Luna and Salazar owe Florida voters answers about why they’re complicit in Trump’s dangerous, violent rhetoric.

DCCC Spokesperson Lauryn Fanguen:
“If Trump’s disturbing threats of political violence and an inhumane immigration agenda aren’t enough, what could possibly make vulnerable Republicans Anna Paulina Luna and María Elvira Salazar stand up for democratic values? Florida voters won’t forget their far-right fealty in the face of extremism come November.”
