Annette Taddeo Added to DCCC’s Coveted ‘Red to Blue’ Program

Taddeo ready to take on Salazar’s extremism and flip FL-27 back to blue

Today, the DCCC announced that Annette Taddeo has been added to its competitive ‘Red to Blue’ program, which arms top-tier candidates like Taddeo with the organizational and fundraising support needed to help them continue to develop strong campaigns and beat vulnerable Republicans like María Elvira Salazar.

Taddeo is no stranger to a challenge. In 2017, Taddeo was the Latina Democrat elected to the state senate and the first Democrat to flip a Florida state senate seat blue in a special election, in a district Trump won by six points in 2020. She has spent her career fighting for core Democratic issues like a living wage for all Floridians, defending a woman’s right to make choices about her own body, economic growth through helping small businesses, affordable health care for all Floridians, and stronger and safer schools.

This Miami-Dade district is one of the most competitive seats in the nation. Contrary to Salazar, who stands with insurrectionists and anti-choice extremists, Taddeo will offer FL-27 real leadership who fights for their community.

DCCC Spokesperson Nebeyatt Betre
“Rep. Salazar has delivered nothing but out-of-touch representation to keep her extreme Washington bosses happy at the expense of hard-working Floridians. Taddeo is ready to bring her effective and common-sense leadership to Congress when she flips this seat from red to blue this November.”
