After the GOP field for Colorado’s 8th congressional district held a race to the far-right in last week’s debate, another extreme candidate has decided to join in.
Janak Joshi’s entrance to the race will only make this primary more crowded, messy, and extreme – and his anti-abortion record will fit right in with the rest of the field:
Joshi sponsored a bill in the Colorado state legislature that would criminalize abortion.
Scott James introduced a “Sanctity of Life” resolution before the Weld County Commission that sought to undermine abortion protections outlined in Colorado law.
DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“From touting their anti-abortion agendas to peddling election conspiracies, this primary was already shaping up to be a race to the far-right. As it grows increasingly crowded, these candidates will be tripping over themselves even more to embrace the most extreme and dangerous positions.”
