New analysis shows TrumpRx is a bust, and Americans are still paying higher prices on most medicines than most of the world
House Republicans and Donald Trump spend every day spouting empty promises about lowering costs for everyday Americans – and every day they get caught breaking their promises.
The latest broken promise?
Trump and House Republicans promised the world’s lowest prescription drug prices on TrumpRx. The reality? Prices for medicine on the website are still too damn high for Americans.
A new analysis by the New York Times found that Trump’s boasts were, simply put, “not true.” The Times discovered that “the drugs listed on TrumpRx can cost American patients up to hundreds or thousands of dollars, while a patient walking into a German pharmacy pays next to nothing.”
A medical researcher from Harvard best summed up the failure of TrumpRx and Republicans’ empty promises: “The claim that the Trump administration is making that Americans are getting the best deal is clearly false.”
DCCC Spokesperson Viet Shelton: “TrumpRx is a failure and is a bright flashing reminder of Republicans’ broken promise to lower prices. Voters know higher health care costs that working families are struggling with rests solely at the feet of Republicans – and it’s going to cost them in the midterms.”
