Another Broken Promise: Groceries Cost More Under Darrell Issa

New analysis finds American families are spending hundreds of dollars more on their groceries with no relief in sight

Groceries keep on getting more expensive, straining already tight budgets for Southern California families struggling to get by – but Darrell Issa can’t be bothered to do a thing about it.

new analysis found that American families paid about $310 more for groceries last year on average as costs continue to rise.

There appears to be no relief in sight. December 2025 saw the largest spike in grocery prices since 2022. The administration is still threatening more price-spiking tariffs expected to cost San Diego area households $2,400 per year – and Darrell Issa is falling in line, seemingly content with everyday Californians paying more for their food and groceries.

DCCC Spokesperson Anna Elsasser:
“Southern Californians cannot afford Darrell Issa’s disastrous agenda. Voters are fed up, and as their grocery bills go up and up, so do the odds that Issa will lose his seat next year.”
