…instead of signing onto a bill that *actually* protects IVF nationwide
In her latest move to hide her record of threatening access to reproductive care, Michelle Steel is signing onto a so-called ‘pro-IVF’ resolution that, like her GOP colleagues’ similar political stunts, “doesn’t do anything to actually protect the procedure.”
Steel is pulling out all the stops to mislead voters on her repeated support for restricting reproductive freedom, having twice signed onto the Life at Conception Act – a total abortion ban with no exceptions, even in cases of rape, incest, or when the life of the woman is at stake. This Steel-sponsored legislation would also impose similar restrictions on IVF and fertility treatments as the Alabama Supreme Court ruling.
And rather than signing onto a bill that *actually* protects IVF nationwide, Steel is putting on a show to gain a few political points.
DCCC Spokesperson Dan Gottlieb:
“Orange County women can see right through Michelle Steel’s disingenuous move. It couldn’t be more clear that Steel wants politicians like her to decide if, how, and when a woman should start a family – rather than just signing onto the bill that would actually protect IVF access nationwide.”
