After AP Report Alleged Domestic Violence by NRCC and Minority Leader McCarthy Handpicked Candidate Dan Rodimer, McCarthy and House GOP Remain Silent

DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos Repeats Call For NRCC and McCarthy to Disavow Rodimer

New reporting from the Associated Press revealed that twice in 2018, Las Vegas police responded to 911 calls made from Dan Rodimer’s home alleging domestic violence and $200,000 in property stolen by Rodimer, including firearms, jewelry and $20,000 in cash.

These calls from 2018 are not the first time Rodimer has had direct confrontations with law enforcement. From 2010 to 2013, Rodimer was accused of assault in three separate incidents in Florida, including an incident at a Waffle House that resulted in his victim suffering “intracranial bleeding” and led to battery charges. Police records also showed that in 2006 a neighbor called police to the then-WWE wrestler’s apartment in Dunedin, Florida, reporting what appeared to be a domestic disturbance between Rodimer and his then-girlfriend.

Even with this long list of violent behavior and actions by Rodimer that required law enforcement intervention, the NRCC and Kevin McCarthy happily endorsed and boosted Rodimer’s candidacy during the 3-way GOP Primary in NV-3, saying he was “the right man at the right time”.

Dan Rodimer has been an NRCC top recruit since early this year, and GOP Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy was all in for Rodimer – endorsing him early in the primary, giving him his max financial support, and even volunteering to make campaign ads for Rodimer in the last weeks of his contentious primary. Now as new reporting and audio details Rodimer’s violent behavior, McCarthy and the NRCC are not only completely ignoring the newest reports of Rodimer’s run-ins with the law, but the Trump campaign and the NRCC are doubling down on Rodimer.

Yesterday, DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos called on the NRCC and McCarthy to disavow Rodimer’s candidacy and repeats that call today as the actions and behavior of Dan Rodimer are disqualifying for public office. Statement from DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos:

“Dan Rodimer’s violent and criminal past makes him unfit to ask for votes from, let alone serve, the families of Southern Nevada. House Republicans who have lined up behind Rodimer, including Minority Leader McCarthy and the NRCC, have a responsibility to cut ties with their candidate given his dangerous and violent past.”
