Arizonans’ Health Care Premiums “Set to Soar” Because Schweikert, Crane, and Ciscomani Prioritized Tax Cuts for Billionaires

“Prices are expected to rise as much as 55 percent next year”

House Republicans had opportunity after opportunity to extend – and make permanent – the Affordable Care Act tax credits, which have helped millions of Americans afford their health care.

They refused.

Now, the Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions is sounding the alarm that Arizonans’ health care premiums could skyrocket up to 55% next year – a devastating blow to Arizonans already struggling to make ends meet.

DCCC Spokesperson Lindsay Reilly:
“David Schweikert, Eli Crane, and Juan Ciscomani are directly responsible for Arizonans’ skyrocketing health care costs. Voters will hold them accountable next November.”

See for yourself…

  • The Arizona Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions said prices are expected to rise as much as 55 percent next year in an alert issued last week.
  • Arizona Public Health Association Executive Director Will Humble said the main reason for the premium increases was the end of the tax credits.
  • “So at least everyone should know why your premium went up so much. It’s because of who was elected to Congress and the presidency,” [said Humble].
  • U.S. Rep. Juan Ciscomani… did not respond earlier this week to Tucson Sentinel’s emailed inquiries regarding the increased costs as a result of the loss of the subsidies.
