As Colorado Enshrines Reproductive Rights into State Law, Extreme Republican Reichert Runs to Rip Them Away in Congress

Tim Reichert can no longer hide his dangerous, out-of-touch views from Coloradans

In response to nationwide attacks on reproductive rights, yesterday, Colorado successfully enshrined the right to reproductive health care into law.

Governor Polis’ signing of the Reproductive Health Equity Act coincided with disturbing revelations of a Colorado House candidate who may be one of the most extreme, anti-reproductive rights candidates in the country:

Tim Reichert, a self-funded Republican running in Colorado’s 7th Congressional District, has attempted to hide his extreme views from Coloradans while on the campaign trail. But as reported by the Huffington Post last weekend, Reichert vehemently opposes access to reproductive health care and blames birth control for a litany of social and economic ills – from housing shortages to sexual assault.

As the Supreme Court seems poised to roll back reproductive rights this year, Tim Reichert would only be a rubber stamp on federal attacks if elected to Congress.

Maddy Mundy, DCCC spokesperson:
“Even as Coloradans celebrate a victory for reproductive justice this week, extreme Republicans like Tim Reichert remain hellbent on attacking their fundamental rights. Coloradans have made it clear they demand protections for reproductive health care. Tim Reichert’s extreme, anti-freedom views have no place in the state of Colorado or in Congress.”
