This week Michiganders learned that, thanks to House Democrats, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is funding a $1 billion investment in the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. As part of the initiative, waterways will be cleaned and strengthened, while supporting thousands of jobs along the way.
John James has refused to say anything about the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, but voters deserve to know whether he would have voted for these good-paying jobs and critical investments in the Great Lakes set to come to Michigan.
One reason James has been silent? His previous campaigns have been bankrolled by special interest polluters including half a million dollars from Koch-funded far right groups – making clear his interests are with polluters over protecting the Great Lakes.
“If two-time failed candidate John James wants to represent Michiganders, he owes it to them to come clean on whether or not he’d support the critical investments in the Great Lakes made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal,” said DCCC spokesperson Elena Kuhn. “By hiding his position from Michiganders instead of owning up to his out-of-touch positions, James is already running the same trainwreck playbook that led voters to reject him twice.”
