This week Michiganders learned that, thanks to House Democrats, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is funding a $1 billion investment in the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative. As part of the initiative, waterways will continue to be cleaned and strengthened, while supporting thousands of jobs along the way.
But Tom Barrett has refused to say whether or not he supports the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law which made the new Great Lakes funding possible.
Barrett, who already opposed measures to support at least 5,000 manufacturing jobs in Michigan, owes it to voters to say if he would have voted for these good-paying jobs and critical improvements set to come to Michigan or if he’d double down on his extreme record.
“The question is simple: does Tom Barrett support the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law?,” said DCCC spokesperson Elena Kuhn. “Mid-Michigan voters deserve to know if he supports these investments in clean water and the Great Lakes, in addition to the billions of dollars and thousands of jobs the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is making possible. It’s past time for Barrett to come clean on whether he stands for or against these investments in Michigan.”
