As Project 2025 Chief Calls For “Second American Revolution,” Derrick Van Orden Falls Silent

Last week, the president of the Heritage Foundation – the far-right think tank infamous for unveiling a treatise designed to dramatically destroy the United States federal government – proudly referred to a “Second American Revolution” that could be “bloodless if ‘the left’ allows it to be.”

Derrick Van Orden – who has stood behind Donald Trump and tried to overturn the 2020 election by attending the “Stop the Steal” rally that led to the deadly January 6th insurrection – has refused to speak out against this violent rhetoric.

Even worse, Van Orden has fallen silent on Donald Trump’s co-called “Project 2025” manifesto that would:

• Advocate for a nationwide abortion and mifepristone ban.

• Restrict access to birth control and contraception.

• Silence or attack Trump’s political enemies.

• Defund law enforcement.

• Raise costs for the middle class. 

• Give a massive tax cut for the ultra wealthy.

• Make prescription drugs more expensive for working families.

• Threaten health care coverage for millions of Americans.

• Privatize Medicare.

DCCC Spokesperson Mallory Payne:
“From standing by this far-right agenda and violent rhetoric to being on Capitol grounds during the January 6th insurrection, Derrick Van Orden has proven time and time again that he’s too extreme for Wisconsin. Van Orden should be disqualified for contributing to this rhetoric becoming common-place in our politics.”
